Toolbox Part - Conversion Back To Standard Part
Toolbox Part - Conversion Back To Standard Part
(OP)
I have a model of a cap head socket screw (with configurations) which is used directly from our toolbox part library.
When an assembly containing it is checked in, this item shows up as a toolbox reference only which is what I want it to do.
However I needed to use a cap head screw with a modified thread, so I copied the toolbox one and deleted all the configurations apart from the size I needed, then made the modification and saved it as a brand new part.
When I check in the assembly it still shows up as being a toolbox reference and the part remains in my workspace NOT checked in.
My question is:- How can I tell this new part that it is no longer a toolbox part and to act just like any other manufactured part and make its way into the PDM vault.
Thanks
Phil

RE: Toolbox Part - Conversion Back To Standard Part
Run this program:
C:\Program Files\SolidWorks 2007\Toolbox\data utilities\sldsetdocprop.exe
It can convert a toolbox part to a non-toolbox part and vise-versa.
cheers,

This Property plays a vital role in PDMworks and has caused some people more harm then they initially thought it might.
But understanding this function was the key to fixing that problem.

RE: Toolbox Part - Conversion Back To Standard Part
I would never have found that.
It worked a treat once I realised that I had to log in as admin and delete the original assembly from the vault.
Prior to that I got Vault Error 102 on check in
