Reheater tubes shields
Reheater tubes shields
(OP)
we want to add tube shields to the reheater tube-panels of a 160 MW coal fired utility, C-E desing.
We are planning to install the shields covering 180 degrees from the tube, on the firt tube of each panel for abrasive protection, and all tubes exposed directly to the sootblowers steam flow within 2.5 ft.
Would it be enough protection to longer the RH tube's live? what kind of material and thickness will be adecuate for this job? considering the reheated steam temperature is 1000 F, and the tubes are 2" diameter, 0.135"-0.180" thick.

RE: Reheater tubes shields
Based on your response we will select the shields for soot blower area on boiler 2 and for ash abrasion protection in both units.
