Linking differet mathcad files

Linking differet mathcad files

Linking differet mathcad files

(OP)
Can I link 2 different mathcad files so that I in file 1 define a variable A, and then in file 2 can write A= and the value as defined in file 1 appears.

Hope it makes sense.

RE: Linking differet mathcad files

You can Insert a "reference" to another document, usually one that contains special definitions, etc., but could also include variables and functions.

Thanks.
Being that I'm fairly new to mathcad could you give me an example on how it looks?

Excellent. Thanks for the help.

RE: Linking differet mathcad files

How do you get rid of all variables defined in the referenced document?

RE: Linking differet mathcad files

After I have used it, an additional question has surfaced.

Can I make the reference dynamic, as it is now I have to mark it and pres F9 to update, cant it do that automatical?

RE: Linking differet mathcad files

The reference function in Mathcad essentially inserts the worksheet calculations at the point where you put it in, but it does not expand them out.  It will not re-calculate unless you have a function that is defined in the referenced worksheet and you call it from the current worksheet.  So if you can turn what you are doing into a function in the referenced worksheet (I don't know the specifics of your case), then it could work.
