In a old book named BOMBAS , "PUMPS" by Julio Hirschmann R. edited in Chile in year 1958 it have a chapter named
CALCS THE HEAD FOR WATER AND VISCOUS LIQUIDS
 in spanish
CALCULO DE LA ALTURA DE ELEVACIÓN PARA AGUA Y LIQUIDOS VICOSOS

About it , it states that  according to a article by Aisenstein , from USA : for a centrifugal pump the FLOW is invert rated to the viscocity raised to Y

and the HEAD is invert rated to the viscocity  raised 2 times Y

My question , there is any new approach about it ?

Or better how to get the new flow and head for any given fluid different from water.?

There is 2 point of view:
1.Regarding a pump design , you should check http://www.mcnallyinstitute.com/images/14-04-03.gif
This explain and calculate how capacity/head/efficiency changes its performance from water to viscous fluid.
2.Regarding a system design , It means "CALCS THE HEAD FOR WATER AND VISCOUS LIQUIDS IN PIPING SYSTEM". In this case, you could use this algorith: http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ecuaci%C3%B3n_de_Colebrook-White.
A VERY IMPORTANT NOTE IS THAT BOTH WEB REFERENCES A NEWTONIAN FLUIDS. FOR NON NEWTONIAN FLUID OTHERS ALGHORITMS MUST BE USED.
