Thousands of draft entities!

Thousands of draft entities!

Thousands of draft entities!

(OP)
Hi,

Basic problem: I have ~6500 draft entities from a dxf import that I want to simplify. Is there anyway to do this? I'm using Wildfire 2.

I'm trying to reproduce an old drawing from DrawingBoard Vellum in Pro/E. This program is ancient: Win 3.1 and Win 95. Anyways, it has the option to export a bitmap, Windows metafile, and dxf. I've managed to export the dxf and after playing around with it a bit got it into pro/e. The drawing is of a large isometric assembly, no dimensions. Its mostly cylindrical components. After importing into pro/e, the dxf made ~6500 draft entities due to all the splines that had to be converted. Now the drawing is insanely slow. Is there a way to convert these back to splines, or a different way to try and import it? Thanks for any advice!
