Use of 17-4 ph for valve keys

Use of 17-4 ph for valve keys

(OP)
17-4 ph (SA-564 Gr. 630 H1150)is being proposed for a 42 in. butterfly valve actuator key (ambient temperature non corrosive)and this material has 30 ftlb impact toughness.  The butterfly valve is operated by a Limitorque SMB/ HBC actuator and it is estimated that the required operating torque is approx. 5000 ftlbs based on caculations.  The key is approximately 1/2 square by 6 in. long.

I am submitting this question because I have not seen the use of this material in this application before.  Up till now I have seen carbon steel and 4140 material used when higher strength is desired.

Does anyone have any experience with this material in this type of application?
