Anchors for Mat Revetment

Anchors for Mat Revetment

Anchors for Mat Revetment

(OP)
Hello,
Could someone please tell me what are common types of anchors used to secure concrete filled fabric mats to river slopes and on concrete structures?  I am currently working on a rehab spec and the vendors that I have talked to say their anchoring systems are proprietary and will not share info untill they win a bid. (yeah shocking)  Any info on the anchors will be helpful to avoid writing a bland performance spec.
Thanks
FarmallFan

RE: Anchors for Mat Revetment

One proceedure is to anchor by overlaping the top of the slope and burying the end of the mat in a trench at the top.
You can also anchor via helical anchors embedded in the slope. If you are going to do this you have to specify a mat made to accommodate these anchors. You would specify holes in the mat at predetermined centres. You would place the mat and fill leaving the open holes. These holes would have nylon re-inforcing cables exposed running through  which are also attached to the mat. You would then place the anchors in the hole and integrate the structure by tying the cables and anchor together by concreting the hole.
Mats come in various polys and nylon. Nylon is by far the stronger material and better if you are going to require anchors.

Thanks Prepakt1,
I am not going with the trench because the work shall be performed without dewatering.  I will be looking into the helical anchors, I have already chosen nylon forms and had already listed Fabriform as an acceptable vendor.
