Quadro FX550 and SW 2008 compatibility.

Quadro FX550 and SW 2008 compatibility.

I am thinking of getting a new system with a Quadro FX550 in it.  Is anyone using this card with SW 2008?  I tried looking at the compatibility list on the SW website but that does not include SW 2008 even though it is now “available”.  I intend to drive two displays at 1280 x 1024.  Any info about how well this will or will not work will be appreciated.

My last company have those cards running on 2007. No problems. They have not installed 08 yet. Should not be a problem. It may be another issue if running Vista.

The Beta site lists the FX550 with the nVidia 91.36 driver as recommended for SW2008.

cheers

Thanks for the info.  It was what I was hoping to hear.

Even though this is a "supported" card it's entry level at best so I would expect a performance hit on large assemblies and complex parts.

I would get the 560 over the 550.  It has more processing power for not much of an increase in price.  Seems like a no-brainer to me.

should have included the full comparison.  I think the 560 is in the sweet spot for price/performance for most users.
