Gas Turbine Efficiency

Hi,

Anyone know what is the highest industrial & aeroderivative type GT efficieny in the market now?

ppm

RE: Gas Turbine Efficiency

I believe it's GE's LMS100 at 100MW and 45%

RE: Gas Turbine Efficiency

(OP)
what about highest efficiency for industrial gas turbine in the range 20-30MW capacity

RE: Gas Turbine Efficiency

Hi there:

Here is a plot that indicates Brayton Cycle (Gas Turbine) ideal thermal efficiency:

Thanks,

RE: Gas Turbine Efficiency

GE LM6000 aero (42 MW) is about 41.8%.
GE LM2500 (27.7 MW) is 40.7%

Zorya-Mashproekt (never heard of them) has a UGT 15000 STIG (25 MW) at 42.0%

RE: Gas Turbine Efficiency

(OP)
Our GE MS5001 PA efficiency only 28% at temp = 26.8 C and RH = 84.2% and load = 100% (24.9MW with 8.4 t/ht of steam injection). Normal operation only 24% efficiency

RE: Gas Turbine Efficiency

The highest, commercially available, industrial type GT efficiency goes to the GE 9H with 60% - but can only work in combined cycle: i.e. it is a GT coupled with a ST (single shaft combined cycle)

RE: Gas Turbine Efficiency

(OP)
60% is high but that is for large machine & combined cycle. What about machine (20-30MW) & simple cycle?

RE: Gas Turbine Efficiency

That is the frame 5 range... all the information regarding this technology is in the web.
The published numbers are Output and Heat Rate.

In metric units, the efficiency (per unit) can be calculated as:

3600/Heat Rate
