Saving as .DWG, loses hidden lines

Saving as .DWG, loses hidden lines

(OP)
Hi; anyone know why when I save my drawing as a .dwg, it decides to kill off all my hidden lines (and exports the dwg that way)? The only way I have of getting it to work is to save it like this, then change every drawing view on the sheet to a different view-type, and then back to "show hidden lines as dashed lines"... and re-export as .dwg. The second time around it works... pretty annoying...

Thanks!
Kyle

Hello Kyle,

What version and SP of SolidWorks are you using?

What software are you using to open the DWG?

Cheers,

2007 SP0... when I save as .dwg, it actually removes all hidden lines within the SW drawing too, haha. It's a function of SW, not whatever I use to view the dwg's.

It's a solid fix for me to re-change the views and re-save, but ... just kind of odd, obviously not normal...

Hmmm... you may want to upgrade Service Packs. If that does not fix it, maybe a repair install would be a good idea.
