From Microstation to Inventor?

From Microstation to Inventor?

From Microstation to Inventor?

(OP)
As per my other post, I'm trying to get a fairly complex model from microstation to inventor though my inventor keeps falling over when doing this. currently the only way I've managed to get anything out of MS and into inventor is exporting as a step file, then importing this step into inventor. It takes anywhere between 10 minutes plus to read a cut down step into inventor. Is there a slicker way to do this? Plus I end up with 1000's of *.iam files as well, is there any way around all these files being out putted as well. Sorry for the multi posts but have been banging my head against a wall for going on a week now and getting no further and rapidly approaching a deadline.

Thanks again
