definition of "structurally sound"
(OP)
I have an associate who is working on a lawsuit involving a residential foundation evaluation report. The report used the phrase, "structurally sound", to describe the condition of the foundation. The house had experienced some settling/differential movement, producing cracks in the brick veneer and slab. The engineer who did the report must have considered them to be within acceptable limits.
Has anyone actually run across a definition (enginering or legal) of the phrase,"structurally sound" before?
If so, what is it, or where can I find it?
Many thanks,
MThomey
