Motion Simulation Triggered Event

Hi
I want to simulate a clutch/brake in a motion simulation in NX 4.0. Is there a way to tell NX to hold a joint once it reaches it's smallest angle? If there is another way of doing this it's fine with me, perhaps with kinetics? I have a spring between two hinged plates (both plates hinged to ground) and when one side is compressed to its maximum state I want it to stay there so that when the other side is compressed I can accurately get the forces necessary to do so. Any help would be awesome.

Mike
