Hi to All,

I am in the process of testing compressor blades using modal analysis. Is there a way to setup a command to have the results put into a CAMPBELL DIAGRAM that can be put into a power point with the different frequencies. I am currently running 18 modes in the following order: 1st easywise bending, 1st torsion, 2nd easywise bending, 1st stiffwise bending, 2nd torsion, 1st chordwise bending & 2nd easywise bending, 3rd torsion, 3rd easywise bending, 1st chordwise bending, 1st chordwise bending & 3rd easywise bending, 4th bending-TE. I run a base line blade first , then I run mininum Blade thickness and then a maximum bladethickness. I do not know how to write snippets or APDL to make this work . Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advance, Mike

I think this could be painful within WB.  I would create a *.db file from the WB database and open the *.rst file produced when solving within WB within Classic.  It should be fairly easy to write a macro which outputs what you're looking for.  I'm not a blade guy but I would think it'd be easiest to create your Campbell Diagram in Excel?  Perhaps not...

Hi,
it also depends on what version you are running. I suppose you are working on v.11 because otherwise there is no way to account for the gyroscopic matrix with 3D elements (which you need for non-axisymm "things" like blades, unless you analyze the entire shaftline but it doesn't seem so from your post...).
You will have to use line commands ANYWAY, because some commands are still not incorporated in the GUI, neither of WB, neither of Classical.
However, these are very well documented in the manual.
Follow Stringmaker's suggestion and "pass" everything to Classical: WB doesn't natively supports gyroscopic effects, and "imposing" them via Commands Snippets is extremely risky in this case.
In the manual of Ansys Classical, look for "CORIOLIS", "OMEGA", "CAMPBELL", "PLCAMP".
