gas turbine combustor pressure loss
gas turbine combustor pressure loss
(OP)
Can anybody recommend me a a book (or science paper) on calculating pressure losses in gas turbine combustors?
Thank you.
Thank you.

RE: gas turbine combustor pressure loss
There is a rule of thumb rule that can be applied -- it is up to 5% of the combustor inlet pressure.

Most of the time it is an emperical relationship.
The best thing is to go with a rule of thumb.
Later on, if you have the capability and equipment, you can measure it.
Also, if you know the equipment vendor, check with the vendor -- they should be able to provide you with some tables and charts.
Today, the vendor might have it on the web site ...
Thanks,

Well, that is the reason why I have been referring to the rule of thumb approach.
Anyway, the precise pressure loss calculation should not slow you down in your work as long you know how much it is ...

You can try Gas Turbine Combustion by Lefebvre or Gas Turbine Theory BY Saravanamutoo, Rogers and Cohen. They cover it quite well.
