do a free body diagram and you will figure out why.

can you be more specific.Are u concern with the vertical component of the tension bracing at the mid of span of the beam ?

yes, it is the large vertical force in the centre of the beam, the brace no longer acts as a K-brace(where the 2 vertical components cancel each other out) and will be a very innefficient way of bracing.
