OK.. I should get this letter anytime now.  Yesterday I received a letter from ELS (the test center).  I was freaking out, open it really really slowly and my heart beat really fast.  IT WAS NOT THE RESULT BUT IT IS FREAKING ME OUT!  It is a letter saying I am eligible to take the next PE exam! But I just took it!  Does that mean I didnt pass?  I thought I felt good with the exam but now I am worried.  Has anyone received this letter when they pass?

RE: PE exam result

Subscribing, as i will be taking it this fall. Anything special i should know that helped you prepare? I have the PE reference manual and practice problem books from Lindberg. I'm not worried so much about the PE as i am the SE. That two day test is not gonna be fun :(

Just do the practice exam.  Just dont spend too much time on water resources problem because I studied it and still I had no idea how to solve the problems :).  Also, there will be a few questions that you can answer in only a few seconds so you will have more time solving the hard ones.  The practice exam ussually doesnt have anything that can be solved instantly so I think the real exam is easier.

RE: PE exam result

Which section did you take on the afternoon test? I know structural guys that take the geotech test because it's supposedly one of the easiest.

RE: PE exam result

In California, I'm not aware that the licensing board sends out letters to eligible candidates that they are eligible to take the exam.

After taking the PE exam, if you get a thin envelope from the board, it is a congrats letter.  If you get a thick envelope, it is a nice try letter with forms to apply for the next exam.

whyun, it wasnt from the licensing board.  It was from the the company that handle the test (ELS i think??).  OK, the pain of waiting for the news still goes on.  Almost 3 months!!!!

RE: PE exam result

Did you try calling ELSES?

RE: PE exam result

Don't they have a bar where you are?  Try sipping a few Hurricanes and relax afterall it's Friday.

Seriously, we've all been there and it's pretty well a 50-50 shot since your mind is finding all the ways you might have screwed up a problem.  In reality, it isn't going to matter since your committed to passing.  If necessary you'll simply have to retake it.

RE: PE exam result

COE,

Don't worry about the ELSES letter. The Colorado Board recieves the results and sends out the results letters.

You might try checking the website online license check. My name and registration number were posted before my results letter got to me in the mail. I do know the board is meeting today (7-13-07). They approve the list of new PEs at a regular meeting before the letters go out.
