Testing of Wiring Installation for small power

Testing of Wiring Installation for small power

Testing of Wiring Installation for small power

(OP)
Are there any specific test according to BS that is required to be carried out once the wiring installation for power sockets, lighting and similar small power equipment is complete before hand over.

Thanks.

RE: Testing of Wiring Installation for small power

Only thing I have seen are specific tests required in the Project Manual.  Otherwise, the electrical inspector will conduct some tests during the electrical final inspection to check polarity, open grounds, and ground/arc fault protection.

RE: Testing of Wiring Installation for small power

Many times the only test performed is the "Energization" test.
In North America, the receptacles are often tested with a tester that verifies the presence of voltage and the proper connection of the hot, neutral and ground. The tester is a small device with 3 LEDs. Just plug it in and see the correct pattern on the LEDs.
