Interpretation of UG-32(d)

Interpretation of UG-32(d)

Interpretation of UG-32(d)

(OP)
Dear All,

Regarding UG-32(d) it has been mentioned that "an acceptable approximation of a 2:1 ellipsoidal is one with knuckle radius of0.17D and a spherical radius of 0.9D" I need to know whats the technical reason for this comment and in the formula for calculation of thickness term of D(inside diameter) should be considered as 0.9D?

Thank you very much

RE: Interpretation of UG-32(d)

The approximation means that if you have a torispherical head with 0.9D and 0.17D, you can calculate it as a 2:1 ellipsoidal.
And of course in the formula D is as defined in UG-32(b).
