Comparison between ASTM A284 D to ASTM A283 D

Dear Members,

Our suppliers recommended us to use ASTM A284 D for a cabinet assembly. Our drawing mentions ASTM A283 D.

As per as the strength & % elongation concerned, we haven't observed major difference.

We would like to know, whether there will be any concerns in going for ASTM A284 D.

The cabinet assembly is made of sheet metal components and it is welded with each other.

Regards,
Logesh.E

RE: Comparison between ASTM A284 D to ASTM A283 D

A-284 was withdrawn in 1992; replaced by A-283.

Hai stanweld,

   Thanks for the information.

How to get copy of the A-283 standard?
