Drawing View Help

Drawing View Help

(OP)
I am trying to make a drawing of a face on an  enclosure I have. The sides have a draft angle of around 2.3 degrees. I need to get the drawing view such that it is perpendicular to the drafted sides for the machinist.

I cant figure out how to get any other drawing view other than the normal top, bottom, side etc.

Any help out there?

Adam

RE: Drawing View Help

There are 2 ways to handle this.

1) In a side view of the part in the drawing, create a construction line that runs parallel to the drafted side. Then use this line create a section view facing the part. This will create a view perpendicular to the constrution line and also perpendicular to the drafted face.

2) Go into the part model. Create a new view that is perpendicular to the drafted face (spacebar -> new view). Then in the drawing select this new view and it will come in as you have the view/orientation defined in the part file.

Hope this helps,
Lou

GLED,

Perfect! I used option 2 and it worked flawlessly.

Thanks,
