Alternate position view question

Alternate position view question

Alternate position view question

(OP)
I am creating "alternate position views" in my 2-D drawing off of a 3-D assembly. It is basically capturing the positions of a lever rotated in different angles. I want this lever to rotate about a pivot point. However, alternate position view allows me to rotate the part only about its centroid. The other options in the rotate does not allow me to roate by a certain angle. My requirement is to rotate by a certain angle everytime. This problem takes me back to my earlier questions about rotating a part with any point without having to use mates for alignment. In this case, even if I want to use mates for differnent alternate position views, the option allows me to either rotate or move. No realignment using mates. In some situations, I infact want to apply both rotation and move for parts before capturing alternate position views. How get what I want? Is there anything I am missing ? Please let me know.

RE: Alternate position view question

Use configurations. Within a configuration you can adjust any mate or combination of mates to show alternative positions.

cheers
