creating separate, 2d, files of views of 3d files.

(OP)
I need to email/save small 2d views, (such as individual paper space views) without sending the whole (3d) thing. How do I do this?
Thanks in advance.

RE: creating separate, 2d, files of views of 3d files.

If the view is to be looked at only, and not used further in AutoCAD, then you could create a .dwf file using the options in plot command.  Volo view is needed to view these files.

If the views are to be used in AutoCAD and you do not want to send the 3d model, you may be able to do something by using the section or slice command, but this is not a complete solution and would omit the paper space entities.

RE: creating separate, 2d, files of views of 3d files.

If you have a PDF writer installed on your computer, you could plot to a PDF file. This will be viewable by everyone via the Acrobat reader which can be downloaded for free. As in the other option above it will also create "dead" files which cannot be edited by AutoCad. If you don't have the writer checkout www.adobe.com to see the price.

Another option (also not for editing) is to print to file and then mail the plot file. The recipents can print the file but won't be able to view online.

regards
Mogens
