Market assessment of IR therm. cameras

Market assessment of IR therm. cameras

Market assessment of IR therm. cameras

(OP)
I'm currently investigating Thermo. IR camera uses in the construction industry for a university research paper.  I would like to find out who the relevant players are (Flir, Fluke, NEC, etc), because I need to find out the size of the total market and their market share.

Would greatly appreciate any information regarding this topic.

thanks!

RE: Market assessment of IR therm. cameras

There are several applications - thus several different type devices and vendors.

I recently bough some for measuring temperature of stuff on a conveyor from Raytek looking for a specific spot at a specific distance for a specific spectral response.  This is an IR temperature sensing application instead of video camera.  These would be different than people would use to look for building heat leaks, etc.

Extreme CCTV provide explosion proof and environmentally protected tilt/pan/zoom cameras for surveillance, night vision, etc.  Another company for industrial cameras is JM Canty.

Another application is flame detection using CCTV camera and special software such as available from Fire Sentry Corporation.

It is common for industrial furnaces and boilers to have video cameras.  I don't have the manufacturers' names handy.

Thanks JL, appreciate your reply.  I'm doing research regarding cameras for applications such as checking insulation leaks, detecting moisture, checking location of water pipes in buildings, etc.

RE: Market assessment of IR therm. cameras

There are probably several companies that do this sort of thing for a living.  Your univerity library can probably borrow a copy of an industry survey.
