MV power transformer

MV power transformer

MV power transformer

(OP)
We have power transformer of  31.5 MVA, (about 57 ton)
This transformer is designed  to be installed by using metal wheels on the bottom of the transformer and metal structure on the concrete base.
But is it possible to install it by putting the flat bottom of the transformer (without using the wheels) on a flat concrete base?
Is there any drawbacks for this method?

RE: MV power transformer

You should refer that question back to the manufacturer.
respectfully

RE: MV power transformer

Putting the flat bottom of the transformer directly on the concrete may promote corrosion of the bottom of the tank.  It also does not allow inspection of the condition of the tank bottom.

RE: MV power transformer

Yes it is possible to possible to mount transformers without wheels and what is known as skid base with anti vibration pads. All our transformers a utility in Middle East are skid base without wheels. We procure from Pauwels, ABB, etc up to 750MVA with this mounting. Just enquire with manufacturer.
