New to the design scene

(OP)
Hello everybody,

i am new to the suspension design market. What software is out there that will show the effects of load and flex on a tubular suspension? I am looking at building an On-Road daily driver show truck and also an Off-Road arena truck that can also run the Baja. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanx,
Randy

Rent an engineer to help you design suspension parts.

RE: New to the design scene

You have three main problems

a) what are the loads?

b) what are the stresses and deflections in a given arm design?

c) how do you optimise the design to reduce weight while giving an acceptable life and being relatively easy to manufacture?

b is the easy part. I'd use a mixture of hand calculations and FEA.

Cheers
