High Powered Demagnetizer
High Powered Demagnetizer
(OP)
I need to design a high-powered demgnetizer that will be line-powered (120-240VAC, 50-60 Hz). Is there any good reference material on the subject?

Many of them have a PTC in series to limit the current.
Rich, you might have more success if you Google "degaussing" rather than "demagnetizing".

Demagnetizing: For removing the field of a magnet. Or erasure of magnetic storage media. See also "Bulk Eraser".

It's not done with 120/240 volts I am pretty sure. You can get a 240 volt welder that will put out 200 amps DC but that would not be considered "high powered" if your demagnatizing a submarine.
