Ansys Contact

(OP)
Hello,

I am using Ansys to model some simple plates, and I keep getting a DOF error.  I know what it typically means, but for some reason it is connected to my contact area.  Let me explain.  I have 2 circular plates with holes in the middle. They are stacked one on top of the other.  The bottom plate has a much larger inner radius.  I am simply applying a pressure to the inner diameter of the top plate.  In real life these plates are bolted together along the outside diameter, but in ansys I thought I would just create a contact area between the plates where they contact.  I used 'bonded-always' contact.  I just want to simulate these plates being stuck together and then see how they react.  Is there a trick to this or is contact wizard even the right tool?

When I run the solution int eh ansys cmd window, it says "***NOTE*** No contact area was detected for this contact pair."  I dont know why.... but something causes my solution to cause a DOF error.

Sorry for the long post.  Suggestions? thanks
