Hi, Can anyone tell me what thickness under BS5500 pwht and normalising of dished ends starts at?

Thanks alot. Neville

RE: pwht thickness bs 5500

Assuming your request pertains to ferritic steel: for post forming heat treatment, it is any thickness "unless the manufacturer demonstrates that the cold formed properties are adequate and the material properties are not significantly altered from those assumed in the design"

For PWHT, assuming that it is an M0/M1 material with no risk of stress corrosion cracking or hydrogen cracking: over 35 mm thickness.
