Slow rendering in ABAQUS/CAE v6.6 via Remote Desktop Connection

Slow rendering in ABAQUS/CAE v6.6 via Remote Desktop Connection

(OP)
Hi everyone,

I have problems using ABAQUS v6.6 via Remote Desktop Connection, under Win XP.

More exactly, the ABAQUS/CAE (GUI) takes forever to display its graphical content. I did not encounter this problem with the previous ABAQUS versions. I tried to connect to/from computers having different graphic cards, but the problem is the same no matter the hardware.

Does anyone know a quick fix ? (before I start looking deeper into the problem)

Thanks.

RE: Slow rendering in ABAQUS/CAE v6.6 via Remote Desktop Connection

Hi xerf

could be video card drivers, either on your host machine or  the remote PC?  I know we had one workstation fritz out with Viewer v6.7 and changing the drivers seemed to do the trick there...

Nvidia certified drivers are here;

Don't know about ATI - haven't used their cards in years for workstation apps.
