Placing "LID" in the model
Placing "LID" in the model
(OP)
Hi,
I am trying to simulate simple pipe flow using solidworks and Flow works. In solid work I model one pipe by simple extrusion process. When I open this model in the floworks a cubical volume is considered for the computational domain. I do not want to consider the outside of the pipe.
How could I get rid of the pipe thickness and outside of the pipe from my computational domain?
I am new in this area. I would appreciate any kind of help.
Thanks,
Robin.

The box for computational domain should be as small as possible (FW sets this automagically). The shape is for practical reasons I guess (mathematically practical that is).

This 'lid' concept is totally confusing.
Thanks for your help.

You use the inner faces of the lids for the boundary conditions (inlet & exit). For example the left lid would have a pressure of 1 bar and the right lid would have a volume flow.
