REPLACING SOLID WITH SHELL ELEMENT

REPLACING SOLID WITH SHELL ELEMENT

REPLACING SOLID WITH SHELL ELEMENT

(OP)
hi..
i am trying to change the solid element by the eqivalent shell element to reduce the computation time.
i got the modal analysis result within 10% for solid and shell element but % difference in  the stiffness in x y and z direction is more than 20%.
i am using the solid 185 and the shell 63 for the comparison.
can anyone guide me about this problem...

RE: REPLACING SOLID WITH SHELL ELEMENT

The solid element is incorrect if it is truly a thin shell structure.
