constrained vs fullydefined

constrained vs fullydefined

(OP)
hello
i'm new in  solid edge  enviroment
i make a sketch in part and  acording with :tool -option-colors- sketch relationships color  my sketch is fully defined
but in edgebar my sketch is underconstrained .
Why is this problem ?
i use solid edge v19 and :tool-option-general-"indicate under constrained profiles in pathfinder " is activated

thank you for your time

RE: constrained vs fullydefined

Hi KThant,

Welcome to Solid Edge!

What command are you using? Revolved protrusions for example often have rotation axises which are not fully defined...

Hi Schipperus

I wanted to ask why my sketch has black color that's mean it's fully defined and in edge bar show is under constrained!
Can a black schetch be underconstrained?acording with :tool -option-colors- sketch relationships color

Thanks

RE: constrained vs fullydefined

Well, most of the profile may be black, as long as there is 1 line not fully constrained the red pencil will be in your edgebar. Rotation axises are often not fully defined (because length doesn't matter), so this is where this happens most.

If everything in the sketch is black, including axises and constructionlines. Then I think you have found a bug.

RE: constrained vs fullydefined

Hi,

yes, there are certain things that prevent the symbol to
be cleared. Some that spring to my mind are:

- undimensioned, manually drawn symmetry axis
- a reference axis used as symmetry axis (can't be dimensioned)
- any construction lines not dimensioned/constraint
- any 'forgotten' line (maybe small as a dot) which won't
make any other function to fail
