What is vapor pressure of #1 Diesel fuel
What is vapor pressure of #1 Diesel fuel
(OP)
Anyone know the vapor pressure of #1 diesel fuel at
ambient temperature. I am thinking it is near a perfect vacuum...
If so, then it would "add" atmospheric pressure for NPSH available?

The U.S. EPA's publication "AP 42, Compilation of Air Pollutant Emission Factors", Chapter 7, Table 7.1-2 gives the following True Vapor Pressures for Kerosene (which is essentially #1 Diesel:
40 deg F = 0.0041 psia
60 deg F = 0.0085 psia
80 deg F = 0.015 psia
100 deg F = 0.029 psia
AP 42 can be found online at http://www.epa.gov/ttn/chief/ap42/index.html

Its around 0.5 psi at normal ambient temps

The value given by BigInch seems to be on the high side and is very similar to that of water at 80oF. JStephen's advice is logical.

It's better but still on the high side for kerosine-type fuels with Initial Boiling Points ≥280oF.
