Design of tubesheet for furnace

Design of tubesheet for furnace

Design of tubesheet for furnace

(OP)
Per API 560 loads on tubesheet with holes for supporting the tubes shall be determined in accordance with acceptable procedure for supporting continuous beams on multiple supports( AISC )

My assumption is that in case of cast tubesheet, it  should be designed per AISC as continuous beam and while calculating shear stress, only web area of the tubesheet should be allowed and not flange and web. In AISC for calculating shear stresses only web area is allowed. Could some one with experience in design of tubesheet for furnace can review and confirm.

Many thanks for your comments and help
