Seismic Evaluation of Existing Building

Seismic Evaluation of Existing Building

(OP)
I am performing a seismic evaluation per ASCE 31-03 for a US gov't agency of a 1983 steel moment frame 2 sty building with open web steel joists and girders as the resisting beam in the moment frames columns are tubes.

The literature supporting this evaluation does not discuss open web steel joists, (typicaly rolled beams and columns) but shows examples using the plastic section modulus Z. Has anyone applied this to open web joists or know how to find the Z for these members?

The evaluation level is life safety, Tier 1.
