(OP)
When we introduce Cl2 gas into the caustic soda solution, we normally shut down the chilling (heat exhanger, HE). Cl2 is introduce at a rate of 2.5 LPM into the 33 ton reactor and the temperature as expected shoot up sometimes to  45°C and chemical decomposition are sometimes observed due to this since the processing should be done at 20°C. If continuous chilling will be done given the the rate of CL2 and the material of the HE is titanium, would this be an accetable process? Any adverse reaction, in case the Cl2 gas is still not yet reacted with the Caustic Soda Solution and it touches the titanium surface. Thank for any advice.
