Running different versions of Invetor

Running different versions of Invetor

(OP)
Does anyone know the downside of running Inventor 2008 Pro on the same laptop that has Inventor 10 pro on. Reason being, I contract to companies that use 10 pro and other companies that use 2008 pro, OR.. is there a way of creating parts using 2008 but saving/exporting as 10?
(life would be sooooo sweet if every one upgraded at the same time)!!!

Many thanks in advance

RE: Running different versions of Invetor

You shouldn't have any problems having both versions on your laptop. Unfortunately, no you cannot save to a previous version in IV yet.

Keep in mind though, once you open a part in a newer version and save it you WILL NOT be able to open it in the older version. That is the downside.
