reporting mass and surface properties

(OP)
hello everybody,

I have a lot of montage files. My problem is. How can I do  all montage files (some of them is made in family table) without open, reporting mass and surface properties as excel sheet.

thanks in advance

RE: reporting mass and surface properties

hello

I assume montage files are assemblies?

A good way to get the data to excel is as follows:

With your assembly open, press the "Settings" button above the model tree. Then select "Tree Columns".

In the Tree Columns window, change "Type" on the left to "Mass  Properties Parameters". Then select the parameters you want to show (mass, etc) and use the button in the middle to move the parameters to the right of the window.

If you have done this correctly, your model tree will show the mass property parameters for all of your parts.

Then, go into Settings again (same as before) and choose "Save Model Tree". It will save the model tree as a text file (i.e. treetool.txt)

Start excel and then open this text file. Set the import tool to bring in the text file as delimited data, separated by a space.

You should end up with an excel file which suits your needs.

Good luck smile

RE: reporting mass and surface properties

oops. I did not read the "without open" part of your post. You might want to make a mapkey to make this process quicker. Unfortunately I don't know of a way to turn this into a batch process.
