Brace Connection using Uniform Force Method

Brace Connection using Uniform Force Method

Brace Connection using Uniform Force Method

(OP)
I have a question about a brace connection design. I am using the AISC 9th ed. Vol. II Connections Manual to design a brace connection using the uniform force method. It has great detail for brace connections with beams horizontal into a column. My problem is I have a roof beam with a brace connection, but the beam is sloped (approx. 3/12). Does anyone know where I can find information on this kind of connection? Thanks.

RE: Brace Connection using Uniform Force Method

The UFM can be used for that problem too.  You just have to adjust how much force goes in the shear and axial directions.
