View Orientation

(OP)
I am still a little new to SW.  When creating projected views SW is placing them bassackwards from what I am accustomed to.  I am speaking of Top, Front, Right hand side.  Everything seems flipped in comparison to what I was accustomed to in Inventor.  Where is this setting? I have looked and cannot find it.

RE: View Orientation

Are you talking about first vs. third angle projection?  That's in Sheet Properties.  Right-click on the sheet (not a view) and choose "Properties".

RE: View Orientation

iumcad,

Right click on the sheet in the feature tree of your drawing and set the first angle/third angle selection to the other choice.  If you want the choice permanently, save a new template.

RE: View Orientation

You can set your template to any view you want. Then next time you use that template to create a model you will get your views the way you like them.

RE: View Orientation

It depends how you created the model ... which planes were used when making the geometry. I believe the orientation of reference planes used in SW and IV are different.

RE: View Orientation

Yes, CorBlimeyLimey is right. But could iumcad rename the planes to anything? We renamed ours to Top, Side and Front.

RE: View Orientation

The model ref planes can be renamed to whatever is wanted, but that won't "correct" the orientation at the drawing level. The Front view will always be whatever is seen on screen when the Front (Ctrl+1) icon is activated.

cheers
