Test procedure for Horizontal in-line pump
Test procedure for Horizontal in-line pump
(OP)
Can anyone help me with a testing procedure for a horizontal in-line pump. It handles water, 1,000 gpm, 150 ft of head, electric motor driven, ambient temperature. I have an idea but I would rather rely on experts.
Thanks.

RE: Test procedure for Horizontal in-line pump
I will give you a simplified answer to your question. Basically you should be looking at three items: The head, the capacity, i.e. flowrate in gpm and the power required by the motor. You should have been given a performance curve for this pump from the factory from whence it was purchased. Your objective should be to try and match several points on the curve of head versus capacity, speed and efficiency to assure yourself that the pump will produce the required flow at the speed and horsepower and efficiency specified by the Manufacturer.
