How to model generic gear in Pro-E?

How to model generic gear in Pro-E?

(OP)
I know this thread was posted several times, but the links to tutorials, etc, are dead by now :( I would like to model a generic gear in Pro-E that can be changed into any size realistic. I have the formulas but I'm struggling transfering my relations, paramters. etc into Pro-E. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Here is a documento I download sometime ago

Thanks. I will check it out...

Actually, even though this helps me to create one gear, I am still unable to create a generic gear. I've been playing with this model most of this morning and using formulas, relations, parameters tried to create a generic gear, but still have problems getting it right. I would like the gear to be created based on the Pitch Diameter, # of teeth, and Pressure angle.

Unfortunately, I have been undable to specify the pressure angle, and the model I have created work only for certain Pitch diameters, but if I designate a very small (e.g. 2 in) or a very large (20 in) my relations are not working correctly.

So my question is this: Is it actually possible to design a gear based on the parameters outlined above, or do gears change inhernently to the extent that the formulas used to create the curves etc change? Any help is grealty appreciated

I think there are a couple of generic models of gears over at mcadcentral

Thanks for the hint. I think they might have what I'm looking for. (their website is down today...) Have a great day.

Alright.. Thanks.

In case anybody is interested:

I found another website that has large library of Pro-E models for free...

https://sdp-si.com/eStore/

These models actually come like they are made in Pro-E...  :)
