I need to convert dwg files to iges(igs) files without spending money. Is this possible?

RE: dwg files to iges(igs) files without $$$

If you are using full blown Autocad you can order a free product at http://www.xchangeworks.com. They have a downloadable upgrade to the product but you must have the CD version installed first, so look for a 7 to 10 day wait.

RE: dwg files to iges(igs) files without $$$

XchangeWorks only imports files into AutoCad - it will not export DWG files as IGES or other files.  But tanks for the tip anyway.  I was looking for something just like this.

If I remember correctly, IGES format is readable ASCII. It should be easy to improvise a VBA macro that writes an open DWG as IGES. I wonder why ACAD discontinued this function after Release 12.
