ABS inputs
ABS inputs
(OP)
With the current upper market segment ABS units, what inputs do the ECU's require and why?
Obviously the wheel speed sensors are required, but why are some of the other inputs important?

RE: ABS inputs
Additionally, the ABS system has been extended on at least some vehicles to include traction control, in which case it needs a throttle input, and stability control, in which case it needs accelerometers.

RE: ABS inputs
Steering angle input sensor - the weight transfer as the driver tries to swerve around whatever got in his/her way will effect traction of the individual wheels. And also outside wheels in a turn travel a longer path so will have a higher wheelspeed.
Various inputs to verify that the ABS Hydraulic systems are working correctly. Accumulator pressure switch at a minimum.
And high end systems usually have Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) and Electronic Stabilty Program (ESP) integrated as the sensors and outputs are common to all of these systems
