Material specification in Italian Drawings?

We are handling an enquiry from an Italian company for sourcing some machined components. Has anybody ever come across the specification 'AVP' for the material?

Has anyone ever come across such a designation?

Thanks.

RE: Material specification in Italian Drawings?

Never heard of it but a quick Google search for AVP material found "acciao ad alta velocità al piombo" which translates to "free-cutting leaded steel".

cheers

Thanks. That does help a lot.
A couple of drawings have 9SMnPb28 (equivalent to SAE12L14), which is also a free cutting leaded steel .
