Hey guys,

I have a requirement for SB167 UNS NO6601 (alloy 601) pipe. does all 601 pipe come solution annealed? I am requiring it with a solution annealed HT process, and I am not sure if they come otherwise.

thanks

I reviewed SB 167-01, and this specification provides the following options for N06601;

hot-worked annealed
cold worked annealed

annealed = solution annealed performed at 2100-2250 deg F, and either quenched in water or rapidly cooled.

so when the MTR says annealed, it implies its solution annealed? because thats all it says as far as 'condition'

RE: alloy 601

If the material was procured in accordance with SB 167, yes.
