Supports shown on a Piping isometric?

Supports shown on a Piping isometric?

Supports shown on a Piping isometric?

(OP)
Hi, all

A question:

is It needed to show the supports in  a piping isometric drawing?

Supports like guides, anchors, hangers.

The suppports are located and coded in special drawing
in plan ena elevation view.

I mean is it useful or not?

RE: Supports shown on a Piping isometric?

Yes it is, at least for me. I think the engineering reasons for the support locations (thermal growth, weight support, etc.) make much better sense in an iso view, and when trying to find one in the field the iso view is easier for me to use to get my bearings and trace the line.

Just my opinion, I am sure someone will disagree.

Thanks for your opinion.

But strictly do standards like ASTM,ISO or some others do recommend it to do it so?

Or is it useful for you maybe for a specific need
let´s say, to install the supports, to fabricate the piping?

And what about the new technology like 3D, PDS software
how do this app´s consider it?

Thanks

RE: Supports shown on a Piping isometric?

Another use would be for checking against your structural department.  Our pipers always include them on their iso's and it really helps to keep the two designs in step during development.
