BOM part number issues

BOM part number issues

BOM part number issues

Okay, I have renamed several parts that are used in an assembly. That assembly is referenced in a drawing, but the BOM is still reflecting the old part names. In fact the vault still seems to contain these parts. Any ideas?

RE: BOM part number issues

(OP)
I used SW explorer to rename the parts.

RE: BOM part number issues

What did you use to rename the parts?

cheers

RE: BOM part number issues

Solidworks explorer.

RE: BOM part number issues

If using PDMWorks, rename them within PDMWorks, then check out from there.
If not using PDMW, use SW Expl.

jman482002 ... sorry I didn't realise that was you posting in the second post. morning

Are you sure you renamed and not copied?

Try opening the drawing in SW Explorer and renaming from it.

cheers

RE: BOM part number issues

Are the parts set to use config name or user-specified name in the BOM rather than doc name?

RE: BOM part number issues

(OP)
No, the document name is what is displayed in BOM.

RE: BOM part number issues

jman - maybe an obvious one but delete the BOM table & re-insert it. In some instances the BOM freezes, dunno why, just does.
