Standard Slot tooling chart

Standard Slot tooling chart

Standard Slot tooling chart

(OP)
Hello, anyone know a web site where I can get a copy of a STANDARD SLOT (hole) size chart?  I know there is one out there somewhere, that is good for machinist use and design use.  I have them for hole size, but I could use one for slots.

Thanks

RE: Standard Slot tooling chart

I never thought a slot chart existed. How would you use it? Hole charts are standardized because of the discrete sizes of the drills. But when cutting slots with either laser or mill, the starting and ending points are only limited by the precision of your mill.
Could you be referring to particular dyes such as on high production stamping machines?

Failure is a prerequisite of successful design

FinTom, yes that is what I am talking about a chart for slots manufactured on stamping machinings.

thanks

designmr,

If you typically work with the same stamping suppliers, I'd recommend contacting them to get their tool inventory.  I don't work a lot with stampings, but I've done this with sheet metal suppliers.  Having a list of standard punches helps when you have some flexibility with regard to hole sizes.  If you truly need a custom hole, you can certainly get it for a price......
